agreed on schfield.he is top notch but for the life of me i thought he was the weak link ....i saw these guys in a little basement bar in williamsburg va doing this show and had front seats and even played pinball with cobham...he beat me in all 3 games lol....what a show ....no insult to paul...ive played for 40 years and dont hold a candle to him.....

Sorry? What I can't watch a video as well? Believe me these guys are still playing today I've seen one of them. And yeh they'll eventually retire and live music will suffer as a result but there's other great musicians out there too just have a look at what's coming out of the jazz scene today, joshua redman, soweto kinch, troy miller are all good examples. I know live music seems like its dying some times but there'll always be fantastic musicians cos people love seeing them play.

I meant live music as a whole, ASIDE from Jazz. Its the classic artists are the only ones keeping it alive. Hell everybody else just wants to sing, dance and model clothes. they do want to put the work in to be complete artists cause they are afraid they will miss the money train the music biz is today. Not enough risk taking in the industry is what I meant...

I admire your optimism. however I disagree. The numbers that are there for good music are not enough to put food in bellies. John Mclaughin did one gig in the UK on his world tour and the audience were shite. More popular artists are not given time to develope. They need to sell and then knock out the same shit again and again.
