At the Battle of Mount Hyjal, Archimonde finally reaches his goal and begins to destroy the World Tree. The combined might of the Night Elves, Humans and Orcs succeeded in only delaying his approach. However, that is all they needed to do to give time for the druid Malfurion to awaken the wisps to defend the homeland!

No, Hes dead lawl, The instance is called Caverns of Time for a reason, You literally go back in time to kill him. If you're a GM its possible to go to the other side of the tree which has his corpse and the singed world tree.

Not exactly. As I understand it, they "sacrificed" their immortality to kill him. They just called upon the forest guardian things (wisps) and they killed him, inadvertently killing that giant tree, thus cutting off their immortality.
