Sergei Prokofiev's fanciful musical tale, Peter and the Wolf, is given new life in this innovative animated interpretation. Conceived and directed by award-winning animator Suzie Templeton, this modern-day "Peter & the Wolf" uses stop-frame model animation, puppets and digital photography to re-tell the enduring classic, and features the Philharmonia Orchestra under the direction of Mark Stephenson performing Prokofiev's beloved score.
This video clip takes you behind-the-scenes to check out the post-production of Peter & the Wolf with director Suzie Templeton.
GREAT PERFORMANCES is produced for PBS by Thirteen/WNET New York.

Awesome! Not that I don't like it, it's too sad Hollywood won't make much cartoons to show before movies anymore, and it's also sad to not let the few have a nomination. I never had caught the revivals of Looney Tunes, and Paramount haven't made shorts since the "CatDog" pilot that was shown be
fore the first Rugrats movie....
and it was pretty much amazing
great job most interesting
