When we study each others beliefs, it's so important to go to the right sources for information. Biased sources breed misinformation. Isn't it better to study what a denomination says about itself? To theunderground777 - Sounds like your religion teacher wasn't being very clear - or wasn't teaching what the Church teaches. And it sounds like they did you the favor of waking up some great questions. Check out the Catechism, it has great answers. It's amazing how much weight what a religion teacher says carries. It's important to know whether your teacher is expressing an opinion or Church teaching.

To 300daysandnights - Thanks for trying to explain what we Catholics believe. Let me clarify: we do not worship Mary at all. Ever. We do honor and reverence her but never worship. Jesus is the only one who is worshiped. We honor Mary because of her great faith in God and for her great "yes". She is our best model of what it means to give ourselves completely to God and bring Christ to the world. And thanks for mentioning your aunt. I hope she knows how much you respect her, let her know, okay?

As some of us have said, us catholics do NOT worship Mary. We only worship Jesus and God. Mary is just as important to us because she has a big role in our lives. She is the mother of Jesus. We respect her for what she did. Saying "yes" to the Guardian Angel. Thank you 300daysandnights. And to the rest of you all, us Catholics do not tell you what is wrong and right.. so why do it to us? I am a Christian! And the Bible says that we are not to aruge! It also goes on to say that if we Believe and repent then we are his children. I don't personally care if you believe in aliens or if you get Mary(a very holy woman) tattoed on ur chest. Actually, it is. Listen to some of their other pieces. Like the one called Unforgetful You; or Flood. Go to their website, if you like, but you shouldn't judge a band by one song. They are a christian band.
