From the public domain - Mabel (Normand), the office girl, and Harry (McCoy) are secretly engaged but the boss, Harry's father, not knowing of the engagement is also trying to woo Mabel. A mystery woman (Eva Nelson) arrives to visit Harry and Mabel thinks Harry is two-timing her when she sees Harry and Eva's affection for one another. As Harry and Eva leave for a party, Mabel plots to trade identities with her brother (Al St. John) who had arrived to chauffeur Harry to the party. Mabel, now disguised in her brother's driving coat, hauls Harry and his new lady to the party mad and cussing all the way. Meanwhile, Mabel's brother, now trapped in Mabel's clothes, gets taken off to the party by Harry's father who thinks he now has Mabel all to himself at last. The plot comes unwound in typical Keystone fashion as the mystery woman is revealed and Mabel's Blunder is exposed.
Written and directed by Mabel Normand for the Keystone Film Company and released October 1914.

Hi Karen! I was passing your thanks! on to Mabel who was responsible for writing, directing and starring in this short reel. She may have even been the inspiration for the third piece of music. All I did was add a music track which I didn't compose and certainly couldn't play(unlike a talented jazz pianist from Idaho). Maybe you could do a musical track for the next silent film.

Naturally,I had to come by to see how the story turns out. It was certainly no let-down,I'll tell ya'all that! Mabel surely made a blunder that time,didn't she?,,,Ha ha ha! The frantic sight gags are priceless and always fun to watch over and over (and in my case) over once again. Yes,I did no

In her best films, 1911-16, she was every bit as good as Chaplin and Lloyd. I'm still fascinated that, although these only may be "2-reelers", she made 63 of them in 1913 sometimes running between locations and working on 2 or 3 simultaneously. She made 35in 1914, 14 of which she wrote, directed and starred in, such as Mabel's Blunder. Thanks for your comments. Pax 2 u 2 Max.

i thought this was one of mabel's better pictures, especially the location shots, living in los angeles i always like looking for familiar places, surprisingly downtown has not changed all that much from the teens & 20s, so i see many buildings still standing that were used in silent movies, especially harold lloyd's. keep posting these, i love them.
