im in a band with just a bassist, and shes a girl too and we r having so many problems finding a guitarist because no guy wants to be the only one in an otherwise all girl band. and we are more talented than the "guy bands" that these guitarists are flocking off to. we get so many shit comments about it being a girl band when we dont plan it that way, its just a band with two girls so far.

sarafilms..I agree. A good band or a good musician is just that, period. To mention the race or gender of a person demeans their credibility and person not to mention. Kat's a Great guitarist regardless of whether she were a woman or a man. If say we were celebrating femininity, then I could see where that would be appropriate but I think it's best to leave unmentioned, since afterall it's obvious she IS a woman.

I don't mean to be funny, but there've always been plenty of heterogenous bands around, like Jack Off Jill, or Throwing Muses, Fetchin' Bones, Queen Adreena, Camera Obscura etc. I'm sure there are plenty of guys who wouldn't think twice about playing alongside talented musicians, male or female. Maybe you're looking in the wrong place, or coming across (probably unwittingly) like the Princess of Darkness (it happens. Guys tend to be worse, mind).
