The bridge collapse and general degradation of our transport infrastructure are the result of decades of mis-placed priorities by both parties, shills for corporate power. The Iraq war is just the most extreme moment in this - dumping billions of tax dollars down the Iraqi toilet - Blackwater, Haliburton, oil companies get rich while our schools, roads and bridges turn to crap.

why do people keep syain the bridge was closed? it was not or how were people driving on it? it had construction to resurface the bridge and it was down to 2 lanes both directions. i drove the bridge often. when was it closed? never, until it actually collapsed.
