This is the most origianl fight scene I think I've ever seen in a movie---they are fighting to the music of a blue lady who sings opera. I knew aliens were cool, I knew, I knew it. From the movie The Fifth Element

I love the ... ( 3 months ago by Thunderhouse2)
I love the aestetics of this movie.
It is very reminicent of french sci-fi comics. In fact part of the movie was inspired by "Valerian, les cercles du pouvoir" especially for the hoover-cab chase scene and the alien designs.
The soundtrack by Eric Serra (aka RXRA) is just amazing. It's perfect. The casting is also perfect. Every body just fits in so good... I can watch this movie a 100 times in a loop and not get bored. It's a masterpiece.

You're absolutely right. This is proof of how many great movies there are out there that get overlooked. It was out quite a while before someone convinced me to watch it, and I loved it. Still one of my favorites.

This and the takeoff scene (with Ruby Rhod and the Hostess) are two of the best scenes in any movie I've ever seen. Besson is truly an artist.

Besson has some new movie out---I was at blockbuster and saw the cover---all it shows is some guy and he is talking to some woman who is impossibly tall---I might check that one out.

I haven't heard of it so please, PLEASE, fill me in on the title. It is a moral imperative.
The main reason ... ( 1 week ago by captaintripps6969)
The main reason that I feel nothing will oust Blade Runner for me is the impact it had on me. I was 8 years old, saw it on BetaMax tape, and the film brought to me the realization that one day I will die. As I've grown older I find comfort in the film, especially the line "Too bad she won't live. But then again.... who does?" I'm not "dark" or "goth" or "emo"... just a realist.

ha ha I promise when we go there this weekend I will make a point to get that movie's title.

You know what I remember most about the movie? I was pretty young when I saw it and there was a part where Darly Hannah ( I think) started doing these frontward flips while she was coming at Harrison Ford. That FREAKED me out, it really scared me. I remember thinking "God, that's a killing machine."

Okay, apparently the movie is called
"Angel-A" with Rie Rassmussen playing the female---it says that the movie was made in 2005, but I'm telling you it JUST showed up on the new release section where I rent movies.
