it ´s almost the same engine like it was in the mclaren f1 GT1-car. but it is the evolution of it. so you could buy a mclaren f1 and you´ve got the engine. the bmw v12 in the 760i is the same but it´s calmer and more civilized, today it has directinjection and some other fuel-saving stuff. but the o riginal engine was created by paul roche (i think) and it was the first v12 in a bmw after the WWII in the 7 series in the late 80´s

there are 700 hp but i think in the official version. bmw themselves told about 750 hp in the le mans car. but if you hear the highspeed of 309 (!!) km/h with such a car you ´ll have to create a new race-class. WHY??. the 911 porsche vln-racecar (only) reaches 280 - 300 km/h at the highspeed-point. and i´ll have to say in racingtrim!!!
