naw the tails werent computer animated.The fins on the end of the tail are extra long thats why it looks like a believable fish tail because you cant see the knee joints and the ankles.And in other movies they probably dont look real (like splash) is because of the technology and prosthetic tails as 2 where they couldnt make a believable fish tail.
