your dumb this is a nice car based on getting lots of gear for less price. when you buy a BMW or a Merc you are getting basically the same stuff. this added cost is the badge in the front. if you dont care about having the bet badge then this is a very solid car to get

I actually just read (either in Automobile or Motor Trend...can't remember) that GM plans to keep the Impala on a front-wheel drive platform so they won't lose sales. They are keeping rear-wheel drive more towards Cadillac, Pontiac, and whatever replaces the Buick Lucerne. A rear-drive Impala would be cool though, considering they always used to be. Anyway, cheers!

0-60 in 6 and a half seconds is freakin' quick for such a big car. Considering that these are going to be bought mostly as family vehicles, I don't think buyers will worry about wether on not they can take their Malibu to a race track. Most people will buy the slower 4-cylinder that's more fuel-efficient anyway.

Yeah, you have a point. My grandmother's 1999 Mercedes-Benz ML320 has worse interior quality as my 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe & my Tahoe's seats are more comfortable. I say this because her window control switch pannel has dropped down, her windshield wiper control snapped off, the 3-point star bage on her shifter has fallen off. My Tahoe has only had the handle to the console break off, yet my Tahoe cost less.

Yeah, it's also assembled in Canada too. But you're right, the Malibu is not in relation with any Daewoo or other Korean company products. I do agree, American cars can be better than the stereotype expresses.

No, I have sat in it, it was quite nice on the inside and looked striking on the outside. Out of the midsized sedans, I'd say the Dodge Avenger or Toyota Camry are on the lame side.

I got a new Malibu LT-2 3.6 two weeks ago, It has to be the best car for the money I have ever had, Quiet, fast & a joy to drive. I have seen 3 other road tests & all 3 were 0-60 in just under 6 seconds. Your tester must be a slow one. So the heck with them inports, just try the new GM (Made in America) where the money stays!

My brother is a professional mechanic. He's told me that yes, imports are reliable. But he also said that no import can touch the value of a GM vehicle right now. The warranties are great right now and are more reliable than ever before. Chevy has more cars with 30 MPG than any other car company. Go GM (America)!
