Irish89055 I would not call the pilots arrogant. You were not there that night so you really have no idea what they were thinking or considering when they took up that heading to the Burbank Air Terminal. Also those Army pilots were members of the Air Transport Command flying bombers and equipment to the UK. They were very much in the war well before it was officially declared.

It may seem "boring" to anyone relatively unfamiliar with the people who died there. Repetition is natural in this kind of video, and this piece does a very commendable job in a retelling of what happened.One VERY IMPORTANT thing it is important to remember regarding Carole however :One does not think of somebody's DEATH as "Great", you think of their BEING as "Great", and Her BEING was TREMENDOUS!

most of debris has been picked over.. only large peices like you see, part of engine and landing gear.. SHould be respected more as there are still prob bits of human remains (bone fragments) The guy below. Canyonaire knows more than most anyone i would assume. He put the plaque there he said.. RIP Carole and all those killed.

aircraft wrecks in remote areas are left after investigation, at least in those times.. the west is littered with wrecks.. one day they will find Steve Fossett. They retreived as much of the human remains as they could.. Stopbath probably knows of stuff still found.. even bits of bone..

This makes me sooo sad to see this & how parts of the plane are still there! It was such a hard impact it broke the plane in half & then exploded on contact. The people in the front of the plane the cockpit, cabin got it the worst. Poor Carole, her Mom & friend Otto Winkler. And to the the servicemen & crew who lost thier lives that terrible night. Wish I could go there & leave some flowers & say a prayer for them. And whoever stole that plaque, I can't even say it..what comes around goes around
