I really like Kissin's interpretation of the fast part. I played this piece this past year and thought that the fast part has a lot of power because the sixteenth notes hide a main melody. But I like Yundi Li's interpretation of the lyrical part a lot better. If we could just combine those two performances. :)

this is the most overrated pianist of all time, bar none. he is such a disgrace to the piano world, and other much more deserving talents are far less appreciated and known due to this horrible pianist. Modern pianists like Arcadi Volodos, Stanislave Bunin, Jean Yves-Thibaudet, Boris Berezovsky, Cecile Licad and countless others will just swallow him whole, no competition. More terrible is the fact that people compare, even calls him "better" than legendary great pianists of the 20th century.

I agree with that statement. Everyone seems to discount Kissin simply because is popular to discount Kissin. No one seems to be able to give any valid reasons why he's such a "disgrace." Everyone on youtube seems to think they're a music critic.

A nice performance, good technique, surprised me a bit when he played the first octave when he barely sat down. Either way, it's a nice interpretation, and it had a few nice qualities about it, but I would interpret certain bars slightly different. That is my opinion anyway, and I'm open to all, but I would have to say it's good playing none-the-less.

Kissin is no doubt one of the best pianists of the 21st century, but I personally like Murray Perahia performs this piece better. My personal opinion is that Kissin very often focuses on speed, power and accuracy while Perahia has lot of emotions in his playing. Music is about feeling after all.
