I have to say that this quad twist looks really sloppy...when she landed in his hands, I thought she was dead! She was just hanging there like a rag doll! Anyway, Gordeeva and Grinkov's looks AMAZING and not laborious like this team's quad.

G and G should have gotten credit for doing it first but I wouldn't say that their's was that much better. Less sloppy? yes, more elegant? yes. But this pair does it with the female lateral and MUCH higher. I think Z and Z's move is more exhilarating.

Wait a minute... Where and when was it ? I recognize the screen effects for the 2003 WC in Washington DC.
But on their biography of the ISU, it says they performed the first quad twist in the junior worlds in 2000 in Oberstdorf.
And about Gordeeva & Grinkov, where and when did they realised the quad twist ?

Even though otherwise it was one of their weakest performances ever, check out G&G's 1986 Skate Canada LP (I think it was the long). Their quad twist there was, I think the highest and best I've seen them do.

Actually Cherkasova and Shakhrai were the first team to do it in the late 1970's. It was significantly easier for them as he was almost two feet taller than her.

i think this is actaully their debut at the 2002 worlds. cause the sceen says that in the final results, they were 9th.
