I love how genuine Cate Blanchett is. Her reaction to Cotillard winning was do generous and you can tell she's actually happy even if she didn't win.
This was a tough category seeing as every performance was excellent. But I think they went the right way.

I wasn't at all surprised that Cate didn't win for I knew Marion would win because I watched the film and read that she won the BAFTA and Golden Globe, she portrayed Piaf brilliantly.
Cate, on the other hand, is a great actress as well, for she is classy and versatile and very unlike some actresses nowadays.
I'm glad that she took the lose lightly, and thought that Marion was going to win.

Blanchett was no competition that year. The comp was between Page, Cotillard, and Christie. Blanchett finished in 5th place. Behind Laura Linney.
