Those slides are pretty cool, but I find a major flaw with them. Elderly or disabled people cannot handle the jump that is required to go down them. I know my Grandmother WOULD NOT be able to do that...and that really worries me.

Actually, TWA was doing fine when they were bought out. American intervened and was able to make the carrier look pathetic by buying them out. and then, after that, american regretted it because TWA had very little assets to offer considering the cost of the deal. it's disturbing that you think it's so great that american laid off thousands of hard-working TWA employess.
