Van Halen without Dave in the classic years would been another Joe Satriani studio band....tons of guitar talent but no catchy songs for radio or concert tours. I dont care how talented your guitar player is, a legendary rock band NEEDS a charismatic frontman - and Diamond Dave fit that bill with phenomenal results. You obviously dont know your rock history because most of the articles and interviews from '78 to '84 featured Dave front & center, NOT Eddie or Alex....think about that, dummy.

Spammy only got a #1 album with VH because he was riding all the momentum that Dave & Eddie created with the PHENOMENAL success of "1984" (10 million+ sold and counting)....and "1984" would have been a #1 album if not for that fact that it was up against Michael Jackson's "Thriller" - the BIGGEST SELLING ALBUM IN WORLD HISTORY. Spambo spent too many years trying to convince people he had a right to front Van Halen, and he was always wrong. A no-talent tequila salesman HAS NO RIGHT to front the greatest American rock band!
