why do wong kang seng always look down when he talk, including asnwering question from fellow party members or the opposition. is the parliment meeting is a drama and everythings had been edited B4 it;s aired on TV. Because as i can see every speech,questions and even answers are on the paper infront of mr wong he just have to read it out, he don't pause to think of an answer to a quest, all he have to do is to look on the paper infront of him and all thw answer are there

Its easier to believe that MS died while in custody. If the government wanted to extract full political mileage from his death, then the story of his escape was needed to: a) Absolve themselves of his death (however it occured) - b) Create a national concensus on the impact of his 'escape' and a forced sense of patriotic unity. This episode would also enable PAP to justify further draconian policies and 'anti-terror' legislation which continues to trample of human rights and political freedoms.

National security and home policies of any country is more important than 'looking bad' in front of others. S'pore is already humiliated that despite its strict controls and tech know-how, they allowed a potential terrorist to slip away so they can't look any bad.
