hey greggo6963 i'm glad that you are doing OK but everyone reacts differently to drugs you know. I saw a brodcast on the news about a guy who tried drugs because his friends had been doing it for along time but the first time he tried it he was found dead in his bed room....

I have responded to Richard personally as I care about him and what is happening in his life. I am praying and hoping things look up for him and his family in the future.
I was on heroin for ... ( 1 month ago by fearthepriest71)
I was on heroin for 10 years and methadone for 5. I got clean by having a rapid detox with noloxone (very unpleasant). I then got a naltrexone implant which lasted 6 months. After that I never used heroin again, but thats because I had really had enough of the shit. I've been clean now for 4 years and I don't miss the stuff at all. The hardest thing for me wasn't quitting but fitting back in to normal life and normal society after 15years on drugs. You'll quit when you've truly had enough.

I just watched this ... ( 1 month ago by fearthepriest71)
I just watched this video again and I'm really moved by how positive you are and the fact that you obviously care for all your brothers and sisters in this world. You must have been an absolute God send to this young addict you're helping. The suboxone you helped him get would have elped his withdrawals and helped him feel human again. I'd just like to say please don't be upset if he relapses. Relapses are very common managing them and getting back into recovery quickly are whats important.
Thank You. I ... ( 1 month ago by haroldsays)
Thank You. I appreciate you and your comments. As far as the Suboxone it has been a tremendous help not only to him but also to other addicts that I know and have helped. As far as the relapsing thing I know that getting and staying clean is a process and that most addicts do relapse. For all of us who are trying to help heroin addicts - when someone relapses we need to be there for them and encourage them that their mistake is not the end of the world and to get back up and get going again.

ur a cool guy harold. i was just wondering what made you want to be involved with people with these problems
Thank You. I help ... ( 1 month ago by haroldsays)
Thank You. I help others because of the example of my father who was very loving and caring, because I have been bullied, hurting, and addicted in my past, because I have two sons who are addicted to heroin, and because I want to leave our world a better place because I was here. That is my short list. I hope that I am accomplishing my goal by doing what I do on my blog and on YouTube.

Harold as you know ... ( 1 month ago by fearthepriest71)
Harold as you know from my earlier posts I battled addiction for 16 years, you have inspired me. I now realise it is not enough for me to have got over my own habit I should help others still suffering in addiction. I have volunteered to help in a shelter for the homeless and have applied to do a diploma in counselling so that hopefully I can help addicts. You're a great guy, when youve seen lifes horrors like I have its life affirming to see someone like you on youtube.
Thank you. And you ... ( 1 month ago by haroldsays)
Thank you. And you have got it right - part of our recovery is based on the fact that we do something with our lives - either work or volunteer to help others. A very wise doctor I know who treats heroin addicts requires that all of his patients either work or volunteer - that they do something with their time and life or he will not treat them as he believes they will fail in remaining clean. I wish you the best as you continue on your journey. Take care! Harold
How can one single ... ( 3 weeks ago by paisleyyama)
How can one single dose of a medicine stop an addition? If it really works, then all addicts should be required to take it and get a job rather than going to prison. Think how much money tax payers would save and how many families and individual lives it would help.
I have just ... ( 2 weeks ago by melana617)
I have just finnished watching a few of your videos and think you are doing a wonderful job! My mom has worked with the DD population since I was 6 or 8, through that and her idea that we should volonteer in the summers I've learned that it takes a very strong and caring person such as yourself to be an advocate for people suffering from disabilities/addiction. I'm also a recovering addict of a couple drugs, keep doing what you do, it's an amazing passion that I wish more people had.
