I think when there is as much on the line as in this year's election--at least two Supreme Court justices, the war in Iraq, perhaps the future of our planet--it would be foolish to ignore electability. I find it hard to believe that any protest vote can have an effect that is worth the possibility of losing a close election.

My vote for Obama is a vote of conscience, a vote of principle, and a vote of clear and informed choice. Additionally, it is a vote cast for someone who has a realistic chance at winning the election. Voting for Ron Paul may make a "statement" and feel "principled," but as far as making a difference in the election outcome, it is a wasted vote.
