How does one allow the children to make their own decision? By allowing them to see every single view out there? But even for that they would need a set of moral guidelines and universal rues to judge these ideologies. Sadly, mostly when people say let the children make their own decision they mean: tell them all religions/ideologies are fine. Its not a big deal. But eternity is a big deal. I do not know of any system, community or parents that do not influence/ "brain wash" their kids.
