not to sure about this video.....not very practical to bring them out the window and down the ladder that way, this isn't very good training! Feet should go out first.
Thanks for the ...( 9 months ago by mwilliams26)
Thanks for the comment. In the fire service there are many ways to do the same task. The most important aspect of this video is that you practice rescue techniques. If you are not prepared to make a rescue then valuable seconds will be wasted on-scene trying to figure out the "How are going to do this". Brute strength isn't always the answer. I suggest you try this rescue your way under the conditions described.
Thanks Again

Well i'm glad you wrote back..i think the rescue it self is good, its a great way to get them up. the only thing i was really wondering would be how someone on a ladder would really be able to bring them down, considering how they come out the window. sorry i sounded like such a jackass in the first comment!

With full gear and SCBA, feet first is not always an option. Any training officer worth his salt will teach a head down ladder egress.

There is a much better way to do that drill that does not require a firefighter to lay under the downed firefighter. It is more along the lines of a two man rescue but here is the general idea. Package the firefighter (Set-up the SCBA to harness between the legs and secure the shoulder straps) - cont next comment
Thanks Again Captain Williams
