Good question, depends on a few different factors, the actual speed and angle that it is falling, the material it is made of and they fact that it was falling during the day would cause they eye not to see the contrast that would be during the day. It is a proven fact that human eyes are at their worst at dusk and at dawn. Not necessarily the answer but some possibilities.

I was sooo excited to see this movie, every one kept telling me it made them naseaus which I thought was b/s and they just didnt like the movie. But when I saw it motion sickness totally kicked in but it didnt stop me from being completely captivated.
The way the movie ended left me with mixed feeling it was one of those movies i had to sleep on and really analyze. Your just left with so many questions. But after sleeping on it I just really appreciated the unique style of this movie.

This movie sucked.Take out the pathetic love story of Rob and Beth and you get 15-20mins of the monster which i LOVED btw.The concept isnt original at all Blair Witch what did people forget. The monster was original in its apperance but thats all the story the manner of filming none of that is original wish people would stop saying it is.The style of this guy is to hype up his movies/shows with secrets and then once you bought the ticket he laughs all the way to the bank. Star Trek 11 is doomed

trust me I'm like freakin obsessed with Cloverfield, but why does JJ Abrams get to decide whether a sequel goes or not? In all of the sources that I've read about a sequel it just says JJ, not Matt Reeves (director) or Drew Goddard's (producer)opinions. All that Abrams says is that he and everyone else wants to work on a new project. Where's the directoe and producer's actual comment on this? And either way Abrams, didn't you want Cloverfield to be America's monster legacy aka more sequels?

The movies good but heres wat i dont get. Every one says that the "satellite" at the end of the film shown falling woke up the monster,BUT! That would be impossible because pressure would crush the satellite before it woke up the monster ( supposing that the monster would be really deep in the ocean, and it should be because we would've noticed it if it wasn't). Plus, whatever fell from the sky look like it crashed near the shore so it couldn't have gone that deep. Anyway, thats my theory.
