1st off i would never do the stupid cruel things to animals that Mike Vick did. He is one sick person!!What I'm saying to you is that the color that you have is not common and is not recconised by AKC. The AKC judges believe that Dachshunds are mixed with beagle or basset hounds to get this color. So yell at them before me.Oh and my dogs are of breed standard and would rock your dogs right out of the show ring. Your dogs are very cute but not of breed standard.

Thanks for replying again. You cannot find this type of dog at the local pound. Our dogs were purchased from a breeder as pets and companions, not for show or breeding, although they did come with papers. Our last Dachshund was killed a few days after Hurricane Katrina hit and although these dogs can never replace our faithful pooch of 9 and a half years, they are great companions for my entire family. They are most DEFINITELY dachshunds. The AKC ABSOLUTELY 100% recognizes piebalds. Regardless, who gives a flying shit? Fact is, dogs are faithful,companions. I have a miniature dapple, he's not black and tan or red, he's mottled. Doesn't make him any less of a Dachsie. The breed is bred from various terriers and hounds to acheive the shape and temperament needed for their intended purpose- badger hunting.
