Actually there is no such thing as releasing to much. The faster it is relieved the less pressure that is put on the bearings and the sooner the turbo can spin freely, resume spooling and create boost when enough throttle mandates.

Yeah, install a BOV on a stocker and you will run your car into the ground. It sounds nice but your car runs rich as all hell, that is if you don't have the proper upgrades. Only run an aftermarket BOV if you got the proper setup.
