Klara.be did an experiment with Luc Tuymans. What if you take art out of its usual context and expose it in the street? Find out here or on www.klara.be

Modern art is ... ( 3 months ago by FunkyDung)
Modern art is rubbish. People ignored Tuymans' work because it was utterly uninteresting. Why must artists are their sycophants be so pompous narcissists?
Perhaps the ... ( 3 months ago by bozzah)
Perhaps the narration @ 6:45 should read, "Hopefully, these numbers will wake the contemporary art world up. Can experiments like this one, help the art elite to take more interest in the world."

The grafitti ... ( 2 months ago by luanbanzai)
The grafitti artists make this experiment all the time using the wall as support for their art and its not unsual that commun people doesn't give much attention. These people are kinda "infected" by the "daily routine house-work disease" lol heh! thats funny and sad at the same time... But artists must keep provoking, and trying to stimulate the blind censes of humanity
Not shocked at all ... ( 2 months ago by AbyMartini)
Not shocked at all that barely any people were interested. This painting is bland and boring, especially in contrast with the wall. The context is all wrong. The artist should have studied the setting and created an adequate piece. But take for example Banksy's work: they stand out. He creates his stuff with thought.... black and white bold lines and BRIGHT SIMPLE COLOURS. The "elite" studio artists should get out more and open their eyes.

This is not a fine example at all! If it even was an example of a pot calling a kettle black it would be a *very blurry* example! Once again you expose your advanced stage of idiocy.

it would help to have a variety of locations and other works as a control. as an artist I'm always skeptical of the consensus in the art world. The woman was right about context. Graffiti to me has equal or even greater value and would get much more attention. What does that mean? I don't know.

I logged on to YouTube to post a similar comment to yours, "ivandnav," but you beat me to it. I can only add that it was great that Luc Tuymans participated in the experiment.

multiple things bug ... ( 1 month ago by cryotwin)
multiple things bug me about this: 1)Art majors and critics. I myself am an art major but not the self righteous attitude most have about their knowledge on art, if you need to explain your art, you're doing it wrong. 2)The experiment proves nothing and is flawed. how many people would stop and watch TV in a display window? Id bet it would be close to the same results. 3)Artists who make art intended for other artists, and are upset when the general public doesn't pay attention or "get it".
