The Remparts were losing to the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 7-1 in the second period when a brawl broke out. Jonathan Roy skated to center ice and appeared to challenge the other goaltender, to a fight. That initiated a brawl where Roy ripped off the other goaltender's mask and punched him several times. The other goaltender, Bobby Nadeau, did not defend himself.
As Roy skated away, he made a rude gesture to the crowd and then got into a second fight with the other team's defenseman. Jonathan Roy was given two fighting majors, a minor and two game misconducts. Nadeau wasn't penalized. Patrick Roy owns and coaches the Remparts and is accused of encouragin
g the attack by his son on the other team's players. Patrick Roy has denied the accusations. The Sagueneens went on to win 10-1. Roy says he was acting out of frustration and apologized on Monday.

can't believe the ref didn't try to stop roy when he was punching nadeau on the ground. of course there are other fights too, and only three officials, but u saw there the ref skate right past roy who was punching nadeau on the ground, to go after someone who was not a threat.

altough I'm a rempart and Patrick Roy fan i think jonathan roy should be kicked out for the rest of the season+playoff 2008 and Patrick Roy suspension is well deserved for this crap. The brawl reminded me that famous Vendredi Saint brawl between habs and nords and things seemed quite fine, until Jonathan beaten the crap out of the other goalie.
I hope they learned their lesson and stop tarnishing remparts image. This would suck if Remparts would know the same fate than MTL Expos

Its hockey. fighting is part of the game....when a whole team fights and ur goalie backs down like a little girl what do you expect...thats gonna happenn...and everyone knows patrick is one of the greatest goalies ever so you cant talk anything about that..

i love how one of the chicoutimi players tanks one of the refs trying to help his goalie. i don't know if anyone saw the other footage where you see pat. roy giving his son the signal to fight him. i think he deserved the suspension.

Jonathan Roy is a fucking pussy! It's guys like him who are responsible if fighting rules in hockey get tighter. You have to respect other players and if someone doesn't want to fight, you don't fight him. That makes me sick! I bet Roy also stalks around playgrounds, kicks 5y old kids in the stomach and steals their candy...

Roy did the same shit,check his fights from his career, he fought and had temper tantrums when his team were getting their jocks handed to them. His last game as a Hab,then the Red Wings rivalry,and my favorite,the penalty shot against the Wild, and on&on&on. Roy has always been a sore loser and now he is passing the torch on,what an ass. By the way when this fight broke out Roys' team were getting their jocks handed to them 7 to 1,Hmmm
