Only because the 1980s teams were less diluted by expansion. I'll give you that the Sixers, Celtics, and Lakers would beat the Bulls in most years. Andrew Toney is a good player (like Gilbert Arenas), but Jordan was able to shut down great guards and still go apeshit on offense.

Loved this--man, that is when basketball was amazing and fun. Say what you say about Isiah as a coach and GM, but he was a warrior on the court. He was right there, a tiny notch below Bird and Magic. His Game 7, 26-point 4th quarter against the Lakers (with a sprained ankle) is one of the the top 5 NBA performances of the past 25 years. Anyway, now he's out of NY, Knicks fans can go crucify someone else now. It doesn't matter cause the Knicks are garbage and are gonna stink for a long time.

I could easily see young cats like CP3, Dwight, Bosh, Brandon Roy, Oden, Deron Williams, Wade, etc doing a group commercial. There are a ton of young likeable stars in today's league...unlike the NBA dark years (late 90s-2002).
Furthmore, if today's stars did this EXACT same commericial the public would condem it for being too "hip hop". Today's guys are judged by a much higher standard, for whatever reason.

U could, but the general public/casual fan wouldn't really recognize them.
You need the top stars that won MVPs recently/near winning it. And the guy winning it showing it off like Bird which makes this commerical work. But there is too much pride with everybody nowadays, less sportsman like admiration these guys show to each other (product of excessive wealth and pam
pering). Can you really see Kobe, Nash, Lebron, CP3, Duncan, Wade having this good of chemistry and genuiine respect?
