Although New Orleans celebrated Mardi Gras this year we should never forget the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina and how many lives have been changed forever by this sad event in history. I produced this slideshow to honor the people of Louisiana.

I don't think people get what happened (and what's still going on there), until they go and see for yourselves. I was there in 1/07. I now consider NOLA my second home, and a national treasure. I love that city.

I'm from New Orleans and I try to take all of my out of state friends to see it. I totally agree, man. Pictures don't do it justice.

Tell me why louisiana,a state thats had been under complete demmocrap control is now at the bottom of the barrel.Tell me who is collecting the lottery money and the billions that were sent to louisiana a year and a half ago and why are they not spending it to help the poor rebuild in New Orleans.Become informed because our educational system in louisiana is also the bottom of the barrel.Vote Bobby Jindal for Governor and give louisiana Hope for a future.

It is hard to ... ( 9 months ago by CanadianPeamealBacon)
It is hard to believe that over 2 years have passed. My brother was down South on business and went to New Orleans and saw the devastation first hand...the lower 9th ward etc.. He said we have no idea up here and I believe it. My heart goes out to all who are still suffering from this disaster. I get so upset when all the news shows is the part that wasn't destroyed. We cannot forget what happened...ever!

Although it is hard ... ( 5 months ago by Nol829)
Although it is hard to believe what happened, the city is moving forward. New Orleans is slowly recovering but on the contrary, I think that people need to see the good parts of New Orleans. To know that we are alive and well. The areas around New Orleans have come back and grown. 1.2-3 out of 1.4 million people have retourned. New Orleans will recover and will have a true renaissance.

Hope is everything. ... ( 4 months ago by Spaniggles)
Hope is everything. But not one man will ever change Louisiana. Simply because of Louisiana. If by a miracle Obama takes the Presidential role what is he going to change? The world will be the same the next day. So far he is no different than any other candidate. Talk is cheap. He has nothing to show for it. If he makes it, he will make it or break it for blacks. A democract taking over in war times is a script for the next disaster. It won't be Louisiana. It will be all. Pray bro!
Spaniggles, if you ... ( 4 months ago by o0sunsi0o)
Spaniggles, if you are suggesting another 4 years of Bush White house you can go take a flying leap. Our country needs OUR money here for education, healthcare and helping Americans keep their homes NOT paying a few trillion dollars for a lie of WMD and Cheney's Halliburton. How dare you dirty this thread with your tripe, thanks to Bush Katrina was a disaster.

Not everyone or everything is fine I just did a google search I suggest you remove you rose-colored glasses and do your own search before opening your mouth to yap. If this was your way of saying that Bush & Co. did a great job down there I doubt you'll get much support. Bush, "Like a Rock, Only Dumber".
no! seriously! ... ( 3 months ago by mkkkproductions)
no! seriously! visist louisiana! EVERYTHING is almost exactly the way it used to be! i appreciate you guy's concern but i get very emotional when people treat us like we are helpless. and, how do you even know i wear rose colored glasses? and, google is gay. who would know better than the people who live here. and, obama can go shove his muslim head in his ass.
i live in new ... ( 4 weeks ago by johnstonjessie)
i live in new orleans. no everythings not back to the way it used to be, but we are getting there. i mean if you go to the 9th ward you still see mold and there are hardly any houses left, but if you go uptown everything is back. plus in the 9th ward MLK is back open.
Putting your faith ... ( 3 weeks ago by qwertyqwerty86)
Putting your faith in an inexperienced retard. That will get you guys far, have you people in LA not learned your lesson? Voting for democrats and having them run LA for the past 60 something years gives you the corruption and slow response.
