Why does he ask that the Holy Spirit "possess us" if Jesus said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." and Where Jesus is, so is the Holy Spirit. If these people are claiming to be born again Christians, why ask the Holy Spirit to possess them????
This is doctrinal error. I've counseled people who came from this type of mind-control. There lives have changed and have been conformed more and more to the image of Christ -- they still enjoy the gifts of the spirit - but with control.

Reply to nelsonb7: Every Christian has a role in his life to either allow the increase of the Holy Spirit or to allow it to be marginalized. Matt's heart is for the full measure of the Spirit. The flesh must take less authority over us, and the Spirit must rule more in our lives.
