fucking awesome movie prolly seen it at least 5 times. I hav heard this song done a lot on tv soundtracks and i also heard a version that was similar to this and seemed like a rip off. Anyone know the history of this song was it made for this film?

Yeah this music is a rip off from the soundtrack of Badlands (1974), "Musica Poetica" by Carl Orff. Tarantino also based the plot of True Romance loosely on Badlands. Check it out. True Romance is a great movie, but Badlands is a great film.

This piece of music was rearranged by Hans Zimmer from Carl Orff's Gassenhauer. Tarantino wanted the score for the film to sound like Gassenhauer, which was used in Badlands. (Which this film is based on). In True Romance at the end beach scene, Orff's version is mixed with Zimmer's version. Carl Orff based Gassenhauer on a composition by Hans Newslider.

I love this song, it was on some video we were watching at school and I was so excited when I recognised it that I accidentally punched my friend really hard on the arm. Having not seen 'True Romance' she didn't appreciate the significance and she wasn't too happy...
