This video has been a favorite of mine for years now, and I watch it all the time because it's on my myspace profile, and it STILL makes me tear up every time I see it. Usually at the part where she gives a big smirk to the camera near the end [3:33]. Thanks for posting this!!!

Its kind of weird how no one talks about who is doing the killing in Darfar,ISLAMIC EXTERMEST! Yes the"religion of peace"is showing its true colors again. I have a plan to end the violent slaughter of innocent people, and it would take much less time and save far more lifes then the UN's "10year plan". Lets all pull our money together and buy some AK-47's for these poor people (they're $30 a piece over there). It would only take about 4-5mil for guns and ammo. Talk is cheap, war ends conflicts.

Um.... Animation isn't cheap, it sure as hell didn't cost 15 bucks. Transportation, to get shots of all those happy kiddies, wasn't cheap either. Ditto for equipment rental, lighting, etc. Her face has been lit professionally, her makeup is pan (professional grade - $28 an ounce) and the film is 16mm digital -- also not cheap. Yay for all the donations made, but the 15 dollar price tag is total bullshit.

well, ever heard of donation and volunteer work? you can get all the items, film, guitar, chair etc. for free - someone could just borrow/give it to them. as far as animation and other labor - people do this for free when the cause is right. so yes, it is possible that they spent just 15 bucks on the video.

But the cost of makeup, 'labour' (the amount of money that volunteers could have made), and so on, is not 0. In this case, it can be thought of as given to charity. Vid makes an powerful statement but the true cost is still more than $15. The only difference is that the burden of the cost has been shouldered by the salt-of-the-Earth volunteers and donors. I'm guessing a cost of a few thousand dollars, tops. So still incredible, allowing the extra to go to people who need it the most!

How can you doubt the cost of this video. I have animation friends that would do something like this for me for free, as well has pro hair stylist and make up artists. As for the pictures. Anyone can go to those places and take snapshots of the kids. Im sure she went tbefore making this song, So technically, she didn't spend the money for the plane just for this video. She spent it for herself.
