Clarke. They explore everything from the Big Bang Theory to the expansion of the universe, black holes, extraterrestrial life and the origins of creativity.

how arrogant is science....THose people over there, including Mr Ventril Loquist, Mr Smith and Mr FrechFried Potatoe With Glasses seem to impose their knowledge to the rest of the human kind...This is far arrogant...as we know that they do not know how the Egyptians or Mayas managed to build up their Pyramids. In short, those Sagans, Hawkins, and whatever they are called, ignore the reality they are living (that doesnt count for Sagan now)

Please, enlighten me, why is someone like Carl Sagan arrogant? Why is science arrogant? Also, they are not discussing the pyramids and how they were built so that's irrelevant to how intelligent those 3 men really are. In terms of analogy I can bring any argument to the debate. In this case Pyramids. Those objects represent one of the oldest existing artificial objects on earth. Thats why I do bring what they represent for our "inmaculate" science --> Its nule capacity to demonstrate few things about the knowledge behind pyramids.Sagan, and many others live as inmortal beings, playing that role in every peolple around them. That could have ashamed them, and show the how arrogant was their untouchable knowledge

Tragic too. Clarke at least lived a reasonably lengthy life, but I feel Sagan passed away much too early. It's amazing that Hawking is still going and still productive. May he live long and prosper.

so what your saying is that because these guys dont talk about how the mayan and egyptian pyramids were built, thier knowledge about the universe is therefore void? thats incredibly stupid. people have been able to put blocks on top of other blocks for as long as blocks existed. it only makes sense that some civilizations would be good at it.

Of these 4 people, only one remains alive today and he had the lowest chances of survival - Stephen Hawking. In the mid-1960's his life expectancy was given as about 3 years. It's true that he was the youngest of the 4, but nevertheless he has "beaten the odds." Power to him.

you guys should buy carl sagans books- since he is probably the greatest science teacher ever, he puts thing in layman's terms for those still interested in the subject without being educated in it. and also- you guys should give the move Contact a chance, a lot of people dont like it because they fail to realize its purpose- it was written by carl sagan and it is very informative.
