Not necessarily. I saw a documentary on the early days of Las Vegas, and hotels would pack people picknick lunchs and tourists would go out and watch the atom testing. But I don't see the connection with the song: coming of age sexually in the atomic and hippie era. Some goofy director who didn't have any better idea.
