Listen dude. First elect a reformist assembly of experts who will then elect a reformist supreme leader and so on and so on. The conservatives worked for 30 years to get this power, and reformists want the same power overnight. It's illogical and undemocratic to complain when you lose.
They need a ... ( 2 days ago by HighwayToHell7)
They need a revolution (a revolution is a difficult undertaking) first in order for this to take place because do you honestly think the conservative establishment would allow this? Listen dude many of the conservatives have been douches and thus shouldn't have power. The only reason they probably still have power is that they block a vast majority of reformers from running. Also, have you ever heard of the tyranny of the majority?
For what u ... ( 2 days ago by arashmets)
For what u ahmadinejad and your evil SATANIC islamic terrorist brothers have done to iran...u will pay...all the innocent youth that u have jailed...all the executions of innocent kids u have ordered...u will pay u 72 virgin seeking motherfucker. KIR TO KOSEH NANAT AHMADINEJAD. REEDAM ROO GOOREH HUSSEIN...REEDAM ROO GOOREH KHOMEYNI. When the revolution happens, u better pray the great people of Persia only hang you. You are truly the child of Satan. MAY U BURN IN HELL WITH KHOMEYNI THE KOSKESH
first and foremost, ... ( 2 days ago by Superboy316KING)
first and foremost, I didn't even understand what ur trying to say in your capital letters. Secondly, iran is not some regime where a small band of people forcefully rule the country. in case you've forgotten, there was a revolution that overthrew the dictator shah, who was killing and imprisoning anyone who so much as uttered a word against him. You're just a pissed off shah supporter who probably lost some money because you exiled yourself.
This current ... ( 2 days ago by HighwayToHell7)
This current government came to power as a result of a revolution against a dictator, but that doesn't mean it has been good itself. Superboy you seem to be an apologist for the current Iranian government.
what really bothers ... ( 1 day ago by Superboy316KING)
what really bothers me is how reformists do nothing but complain. you don't see republicans or democrats complaining when they lose. you don't see them crying foul play everytime they lose. I don't agree with everything the iranian government does but then again i don't agree with everything my own government does. American democracy wouldn't work in iran, they have their own culture and tradition.
superboy-If you're ... ( 1 day ago by arashmets)
superboy-If you're comparing the Shah to these SATANIC 72 virgin seeking terrorist motherfuckers who call themselves the PISSLAMIC republic of Iran, then you're truly a MORON. The shah was no SAINT, everybody knows that, but to compare him to these terrorist thugs? I dare u to go tell the parents of the innocent youth being KILLED/TORTURED that u support ahmadinejad, and lets see their reaction. I piss on Ahmadinejads grave and I piss on khomeyni, & fuck arabs for bringing pisslam to us!
Democrats and ... ( 1 day ago by HighwayToHell7)
Democrats and Republican do complain though. Are you deaf? Besides, the reformists have a lot more reason to complain since they aren't even allowed to run! How do you know a secular democracy wouldn't work in Iran? A secular democracy doesn't rid a nation of its culture and would be more fair to all involved (it wouldn't favor any religious or ethnic minority). Your defense of the fundamentalist Iranian government seems highly irrational.
when republicans or ... ( 1 day ago by Superboy316KING)
when republicans or democrats criticize, it's constructive criticism. They don't call for the whole system to be torn down and a new system to take its place every election season. All I'm saying is even if iranians want a new government, they have to do it within the system. Iranians and other middle eastern countries have got to learn that calling for a revolution or uprising is not the way to go. It only brings suffering and death.
That's because the ... ( 1 day ago by HighwayToHell7)
That's because the system upon which the American government is based is not as flawed. How can they do it within the system when those striving for change can't run? The reformers also have valid criticisms (just because they usually call for the dismantling of a Fundamentalist theocracy does not mean they aren't constructive). It's true revolutions and uprisings lead to bloodshed, but if the Iranians truly want more freedoms then they may have to resort to a revolution/uprising of some sort
and that's what i'm ... ( 1 day ago by Superboy316KING)
and that's what i'm saying. IF they want it. Apparently they don't, a big majority is happy with the system and continue to support it.
No it doesn't. ... ( 1 day ago by HighwayToHell7)
No it doesn't. Many are probably afraid to speak out given Iran's harsh treatment of prisoners and their history of brutal crackdowns on many protests. Like you said a revolution almost always brings about suffering, which is something many would like to avoid, but evntually they may feel like thier suffering is a necessary sacrfice for the future benefit of the country. If a majority is in fact supporting the current government than they participate in a tyranny of the majority.
they can't be any ... ( 1 day ago by Superboy316KING)
they can't be any more afraid than they were when the shah was in power. he was way more brutal. If they people truly want it, no government can deny the will of the people. Again, i'm sorry if your factions have no support in iran, but i'm not gonna propogate a revolution or uprising.
Both regimes engage ... ( 1 day ago by HighwayToHell7)
Both regimes engage in brutal torture (people are going to be afraid of it regardless of whther the Shah was more cruel) and I also think the current government may be actively guarding against a revolution in that they imprison or eliminate politicians that could be serious threats to their authority (the Shah did the same and he held power for quite a while). Who is to say the Iranian people aren't going to revolt soon? They've protested a number of times only to be beaten and punished.
It may also be that ... ( 1 day ago by HighwayToHell7)
It may also be that a number of Iranians are reluctant to enter another revolution since the previous one ended in the establishment of the current government, which many would call a disappointment. T o put it in simpler terms they may be very disillusioned.
you have your ... ( 1 day ago by Superboy316KING)
you have your opinion and I have mine. If iranians didn't support their constitution, they wouldn't have 80% election turnout. I support the iranian nations choices.
There was 60% ... ( 1 day ago by HighwayToHell7)
There was 60% turnout in the first round of the 2008 elections and only 25% in the second round of the elections. In the 2008 elections 90% of the reformists who wanted to run were not allowed to. If a vast majority of Iranians do support the current government that doesn't make them right. Tell me how the persecution of gays, Bahais, atheists, aganostics, etc. is just? Tell me how the brutal enforcement of a strict dress code is just? Tell me how the cruel torture of prisoners is just?
first of all ... ( 1 day ago by Superboy316KING)
first of all faggots are an abomination anywayz, I'm not even going to defend them. As regards to torture, every country does it whether they like to admit it or not. Even the US, case in point abu ghraib and guantanamo. Regards to the dress code, iran is an islamic country with over 90% of the population as muslims. That's their religion and you have no right to criticize people's beliefs. The constitution wasn't enforced, it was voted upon with 90% approval in a referendum.
I can now firmly ... ( 1 day ago by HighwayToHell7)
I can now firmly call you an asshole given your comments on gay people. Yes, the U.S. is curently having its problems with torture, but it is only happening to suspected terrorists at the moment (not saying I agree with this), while in Iran you can be tortured for something like criticizing the current system or for your religious beliefs. I can criticize people's religions and beliefs if I want to (that is a benfit of living in a secular democracy).
They can be pious ... ( 1 day ago by HighwayToHell7)
They can be pious muslims all they want, but if a female Muslim doesn't feel like dressing according to the strict dress code then she should be allowed to wear what she wants not beaten or arrested. Non-muslim women also shouldn't have to conform to the strict Islamic dress code if they don't want to either. If the majority of Iranians (the Shia) think they should control how the minorities in the nation live in an opressive manner than they are participating in a tyranny of the majority.
