That`s the first Resident Evil. At the beginning, it was on Playstation 1. The GameCube`s version is the same, except of better graphics, more monsters and also more puzzles.

i don't know ,maybe because it is resident evil and it is too fun to play it :)) On the other hand maybe i feel a little bit nostalgic ,because of the fact that it is the last great RE game , all of the RE4 and Re5 are not that good as older re versions:) But who knows maybe they will make a RE with gameplay as in Re:3,2,Code veronica and Re:remake

yeeeh dude all the books are so well
written and perfectly adapted from the games,
i wish the film adaptations stayed as true
to the games as the book series did. im thinkin of picken up a gamecube real cheap and gettin all the remade originals on it.
