Man! I forgot Mortal Kombat had a show. Seeing this clip I remember why I forgot, hahaha! Damnit, that show COULD have been so much better. Never did followed the video game characters or storylines. So sad. But this fighting scene was cool.

Kung Lao is supposed to be "normal" (as far as a mortal kombat champion can be). Besides, I would he say in the TV series, he is the ancestor of the Kung Lao in the video games, because as the Intro states the whole thing plays "centuries ago". And the 2 with him were Taja and Siro, two new charakters.
