A US TV Show called 'Shindig'. The performace was recorded in London for broadcast in the States on 7 October 1964.
I love how they always laugh at themselves and they enjoy their own show..:)

Almost live. They are singing live over a pre-recorded backing track. Clues? - Check out how John's harmonica keeps going after he stops at the end of the first phrase of his first solo. Not to mention the song fades out. Also watch Ringo's cymbal during "Boys". Except for a couple of accidental smashes, it never moves.

the talent just explodes in this clip of "i'm a loser". their strength as a live band coinciding with their, or in this case, john's growth as a songwriter, coming together perfectly, yes, perfectly. listen to and watch george, paul and john. this was taped either 1 day before or 1 day after john's 24th birthday-thanks john for YOUR gifts to us.

Yes, IT WAS TAPED IN ENGLANDand this. Nobody said it was broadcast live. One Shindig show was taped in England and this is it. If you turned on your tv that night, as I did, to watch Shindig, you saw the Beatles open the show with Kansas City, a few other British acts, and the Beatles close with I'm A Loser and Boys. So the Beatles were on Shindig. For crying out loud, no one is try to rewrite history.

The Beatles were on ALOT of TV shows....ON TAPE....ONLY one TV SHOW LIVE, dats Ed Sullivan, 3 times in Feb 1964....DATS IT FOLKS....the rest is just..''not important'' Never on SHINDIG LIVE or in its stage.
PAUL REVERE AND THE RAIDERS and Gary Lewis and the PLAYBOYS...now dat was in THE STUDIO and ON the show.......

"SHINDIG!" was the only other American variety series, besides Ed Sullivan's, that the boys would agree to appear "in person", even if producer Jack Good had to take the show to London to have them perform "live on tape"; on the other hand, their apperarance on NBC's "HULLABALOO" in the spring of '65 was taped in London for airing in the U.S., and wasn't an "in person performance"...
