Exactly. I don't know, maybe the Pretenders-video to this song which is simply ridiculous spoils the acustic impression for some people. Although i must admit that i'm not the biggest Coldplay-fan, i believe they're a bit overrated, don't think they would be anything special in the 80's, they are too flat and simple for my music-taste.
