On the 'B' side to "What's The Matter With You Baby" was a ballad by Marvin Gaye and Mary Wells, "Once Upon A Time". Released in 1964 on the heels of Mary Wells big hit "My Guy" (Motown 1056), this was the first duet for Marvin Gaye. He would later record duets with Kim Weston,Tammi Terrell and Diana Ross.

Hmm, see this one sounds exactly like the CD... It must be something with the pitch setting that makes MotownMaster's records sound different than what I have.. I don't know too much about vinyl.

This was recorded directly from the vinyl record. You can hear some noise on the groove just before the song begins. Motown recordings are high quality which is why it has a C.D like sound. And yes, the pitch was adjusted so the recordings sound pretty much as they did when these songs first came out.

Thanks. It's something that's unique about the ones that MotownMaster plays. It must be that player. I don't know enough about vinyl to understand though. I listened to some other records that people put on here and aside from the popping sounds, they all sounded like my CD's. But every Marvin record he's posted his voice has sounded slightly different than what I have. I like it though and I would like to understand why... Any idea?
