yes, she is, she's only in her early 60s, wikipedia says 60, but I was thinking 61, she recorded a new album not too long ago, and in 2002 ( I think ) she released another christmas album, her " bluegrass session " album ( in 2004 ) was pretty successful, I hope she does another album, she's great, but I think her voice was really the best in the early days, it was higher and had a sort of angelic innocent like quality to it

Yeah, the 70s were the golden age of country music ( and almost any kind of music ) I was born way too late to hear this stuff when it was new, I'm glad there are videos like these to watch, I wish people could travel back to the 70s too lol
I have said that ...( 6 days ago by memorex36)
I have said that and thought that about her voice too, and could not agree with you more on that point. I think her voice is not good today and the angelic quality that you mention, which made her famous, is long gone and this is why she is not a commercial success today. Apparently she opted for a higher pitch that her voice was not suited for back around 1974 or so. After this point her record sales continued to slip because the public did not want this from her.
W R O N G! "Rose ...( 6 days ago by memorex36)
W R O N G! "Rose Garden" was relesed in the fall on 1970 and was at the number one position on December 26th of 1970. The album of the same name was released in 1971 and it was a hit on the pop charts in 1971 too. Even Columbia records themselves don't seem to know when this song was a hit and all the re-issues of the 45 say July 1971 on them!
