In my home town of Darwen Lancashire, and is a breath-taking sight,(at 300 feet high, 150 meteres), it is a copy of the Venitian Campanile, which is in Venice Italy!
The original of which collapsed in 1912,(Venice, Italy),
So the India Mill Chimney is quite special, in the respect that it surv ives the original.
The Chimney and Mill was built by Eccles Shorrock, between 1853 & 1867.
