The political activist and photojournalist will address the potential for such an atrocity in any country including the United States. Pran survived one of the bloodiest genocides in human history, the Cambodian tragedy set forth by the Communist Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. Pran's story was portrayed in the Academy award-winning movie, The Killing Fields. Determined to educate the world and assure that the Cambodian genocide is not forgotten nor repeated, he has founded The Dith Pran Holocaust Awareness Project.

Thank you very much for shearing this video. I am very glad to see it. In addition to this, I would like to ask something regarding to displayed video. My first question is, do Mr. Dith Pran and Dr. Hang Gnor are the same person? Secondly, beside of the reasons you demonstrated in this speech, Why Khmer Rough regime was occurred? Why American went to war in Vietnam? Why Thailand allowed U.S govt used her territory to attack Vietnam at those times? Do not say that because Thailand is U.S ally!

Noun Chea studied and worked in Thailand, but why did he end up his carrier and joined with Pol Pot who he has not known before? U.S destroyed and killed a lot of Cambodian people along the Vietnam and Cambodia border at the time, but U.S keeps supporting Cambodian people very less. I do not think that reasons you mentioned make sense enough therefore I would to hear from you more. With Regards.

Vietnam was due to communism and world war 2, there was once a north and south vietnam. and the communist end was attking the other end. the U.S. being the other power had to help the non communist side to keep vietnam form going communist. the U.S. was fighting to keep democracy and the russians were fighting to spread communism. thats why there were so many other wars durring that time. and they used thailand to there advantage and a recover point for troops.

Dith Pran and Dr. Haing Ngor are NOT the same person. Dr. Haing Ngor wrote his life story in a book called 'Survival in the Killing Fields'. In many ways his own personal story is even more horrific!! PLEASE READ IT! and pay your respects to two very courageous men. R.I.P.

With regard to Haing Ngor, yes, I read his book, surviving the killing fields, truly moving. Haing S. Ngor won an Academy Award for his performance as Dith Pran in The Killing Fields.

The KR regime occured because of dirty politics. Pol Pot felt betrayed by Vietnam so he create the KR, communist Khmer (it went by a different name before KR). when the US was bombing Cambodia (Ho Chi Minh's trails) king Sihanouk used that as a propaganda to recruit farmers to join the regime.
America went to war with Vietnam because it did not want communism to spread in the region and this is known as the domino's theory. If Vietnam fall then Laos and Cambodia will fall as well.

Yes, I think your idea is good. It is the same to what I have in my mind. But it is really not that fair that the world does not want peace. The super power countries in the world really like to go to war so as to take advantage from other countries else.
