I agree Gwyneth Paltrow is way too stiff and wooden and comes across as stuck up onscreen. Winslet is far more likable and accessible and radiant. People liked Titanic were Leo and Kate together. If it were Gwyneth and Matthew Mccaughnhey as it was intended to be, it would have just a boring disaster movie with an unappealing couple.

LOL, I agree...I had read that Jack and Rose were initially supposed to be played by Gwyneth Paltrow and Matthew McCaughnhey (or Tom Cruise). Imagine if Gwyneth did the drawing scene...I mean she'd literally be like bones and totally flat in the chest (have you seen Shakespeare in Love??). Actually Kate has mentioned in her interviews that she would never leave England for Hollywood, and after an epic blockbuster like Titanic she actually chose to turn down subsequent big roles to do smaller films because it felt right to her personally and spiritually. Now I don't know about Brits being stubborn...I've never met them in person, and I don't know if they like people of my race. But I would love to meet Kate; she seems kind and inspiring.

Well, i'm not sure why it's so shocking, but it's not such big news that the educational system in the British commonwealth is far more rigorous, advanced, and well-rounded than the U.S.'s. You need only refer to literacy and logic aptitude tests to see that - or strike up a conversation with an American:) Most Americans are NOT well educated... and there's nothing wrong with that, exactly, because America wouldn't be America without its hard-working, blue-collar class.
