Defense in Jordan's day was much more physical than today. They basically used to rape Jordan and he still dominated. Plyers back in the day in general weren't as athletic as they are today because athleticism is emphasized but trust me they were physical and there skills were just as good if not better.

First and foremost,mj jumped higher(Above the top of the block), faster(4.3 forty at UNC), if you look back, mj played against zone defenses but they were illegal then. kobe is the best in today's game, but most of these guys in todays game COULD NOT play back then period!!! Too many cry babies in today's game, complain about little slaps on the hand. Back then mj got hammered constantly and still gave them a mouth full nightly.
