ET was overrated imo.. I'll say today it's a good movie bc it represents an entire era of film from the late 70s, early 80s; the beginning of big-budget popcorn summer flicks. It was also the first to include product placement, to its discredit

The first to include product placement? Check out Superman: The Movie (1978), which came out years earlier, and note the prominent placement of a certain cereal box when young Clark is out in the field pondering traveling north, and elderly Martha Clark is getting breakfast ready at sunrise. That certainly looks like product placement to me. Oh, and Superman 2 (1980) and the exploding Coca-Cola sign...product placement. Nice try, though, but no cigar for you.

and you actually put Duel on the list? Spielberg is a HAS been, just like Lucas. Indiana Jones 4 is PRIME example of a half-assed CGI vomit fest of crap.
