This is my favorite part from one of my favorite movies "Pocahontas". John Smith (Mel Gibson) calls Pocahontas (Irene Bedard, singing voice: Judy Kuhn) and her people for "savages", so she sings this song to him.

its really sad i mean all the old disney films wen they started singing they all had a reason to start singing but now in crap stuff like hsm they just burst into song for no reason. like wen hsm1 cam out i watched it and really liked but a few days after our neyboir gave us loads of old disney films i wacthed 1 wich was oviosly pocahontas and realised the classics were so much better. i mean in hsm troy bolton just burts out into song in the middle of a basketball match stupid or wat

How is this offensive to the Native American culture? It's portraying a positive message on how, most Natives, view the world around them. As a sacred place where every living thing is valued and precious and that people should take that into consideration. You're just stupid and talking out of your ass. And historically incorrect? I agree. It's not offensive to Native American culture. However it is racist. If you haven't noticed Pocahontas is the only one who can speak full sentences and she has lighter skin than any of the other Native Americans. But it's not offensive to their culture.

Obviously, its a movie, meaning there are going to be a lot of hollywooded up moments of inacuratcy. I've got a lot of roots into Native American heritage and to me, I didn't feel any of it was racists. To me, if a person looked at this and saw that as truth, racisim, I'd say they're admitting that they honestly believe whatever that flickering box is telling them! >.> Also, after this movie came out a lot of people began to study about who she really was. To me, the message was good.
