Ignorance is abundant here!! When was the last time you saw a mazda win the 24 hrs of LeMans??? Sorry...they don't run there. The only way I get 29mpg on my car is in cruise control on a super flat road. Nice car don't get me wrong. The MS6 is a bit heavier too guys!! I understand you loving your car but know your limits. Meet me in the streets with you MS6 and I will hand you a face full of tail lights!!! BTW I didn't get the Z06 because you can take the roof off. Heads and Cam got me there!

WRONG. There are zero cars sold in America that are faster than a base Corvette and get better mileage or faster than the Z06 and get better mileage. They are an absolute bargain for thier performance level. And my 132,000 mile Z06 has zero leaks, squeeks, or rattles and everything functions pe rfectly. Oh, and I average 26 mpg with it. You are incredibly ignorant about the car.

Try again. I just went to Autotrader(dot)com, searched for Corvettes 2001-2004 for under $16,000 and there are 9 for sale right now. Don't forget to change the distance from you to "any distance."

I think we got all screwed up dude..I own both cars MS6 and a vette (i said so in my first response). I'm not defending any car. I'm just amazed by how many folks in here don't give props to the vette!! The C5 is a world class car wether haters want to admit it or not. BTW there is no such thing as a 99 Z06!! the first Z06 was made in 01...I should know...I owned one too!!!

I own an MS6..... I've cut a 13.88 in it, I've had friends do 13.6 in their MS6s. I do speak from experience, you can check on here, there is a guy doing a 13.5. Like I said an auto c5 non-z06 won't "absolutely destroy" an MS6, I never said it would lose to it, but I said it wouldn't "destory" it comparing 13.4 to a 13.5 or even a 13.8 is a pretty close race. I never said it was a street killer, I was just saying that a stock c5 automatic won't "absolutely destroy" an MS6.

no, people are talking about REGULAR c5s, and automatic ones at that. c5 z06s are different thana regular c5, and I definitely love those. If I had to chose between corvettes, I would get a z06 over a "base" model :D In fact I want to get a c6 z06 someday.

Even regular automatic C5 (counting on the base 2.73 gear ratio) will do mid to low 13's. If you catch an automatic with the 3.15 (oem) or upgraded 3.42 they will dip into the 12's (maybe not the 3.15). I love Z06 but you can't take the roof off!! Not every day is a race for me :) I need to be able to take the roof off. A stock Z06 will do mid to low 12's stock!! minor bolt ons and game over. My head/cam automatic C5 puts down 413rwhp and about the same in tq. Drives great too...great sleeper!!

ms6 is a quick functional car . corvettes are quick but serve no function come rain and snow .If you have kids , errands to run , and wanna keep it low key ms6>corvette . If you have a big ego , wallet , and another car then a vette is cool . i would get something alittle more exotic instead. the only thing i like about the vette is it is american made and helps our economy more.
