I think the answer to your question is, Steven Spielberg (and a few other directors). By creating the so called blockbuster movies, he got rid of everything else, like the independent/foreign movies. Everyone, or the majority, want to see a Hollywood smash hit movie, nothing else.

It's nice to see an honest speech, he seems genuinely moved... and funny, the Italian charm and humour evident. Sophia is gorgeous and Marcello... hell, you could listen to that accent all day.

è solo il cinema ad essere cambiato..guardati un po' intorno, guarda anhce la tv, per esempio, cosa è diventata. Purtroppo mi sa che è proprio l'Italia ad essere cambiata. Fanno strada i raccomandati incapaci e grandissimi attori (o potenziali) fanno fatica a sbarcare il lunario o sono costretti
a fare lavoretti qui e là.

He cheated a lot on Giulietta, had a lot of brief affairs, but he remained faithful to her in his whole life. Giulietta never argued with him about his affairs with other women because she knew that Federico will never leave her, he just needs to get a "little sexual freedom", but in heart she will always remain the love of his life. Sadly he died one day after their 50th wedding anniversary.

Thank you to have finally posted this video. Fellini is the cinema, in its most visionary form. In Italy we don't have anymore a cinema like the one Fellini did, but we can still dream a new Italian cinema made of visions and ideas, and not only of the same poor plots. Fellini forever.
