Marie Antoinette didnt desrve this. Yes i know sh wasnt that musch of a good queen but its becaus she wasnt prepared. they were practacly children when they were married she was 14 he was 15 they didnt know much about ruling their fate could have been prevented its sad that there Charles an Marie Therese had to go through this too. Marie Therese didnt know her mother was dead un til two years after. She must have been i agony waiting to know. Its sad very very sad

I really liked this movie. I loved how everything was so exquisite and beautiful. The costumes were absolutely fabulous. It's really terrible how she and her husband were beheaded. They were not able to rule the country well and were such big spenders because such a task was forced on them when they were so young. They didn't know how to do what was best for everyone else, but rather did what they fancied. It's really a shame that something like this happened. Thanks for updating the trailer.= )

I think the starving people of France were just soo tired by then. If I remember correctly Louis was spending so soo much money on the castle of Versailles and other extravangce while people were starving and dying and so they rose up and killed them. This movie barely shows any of those reasons.
It was soo bizarre that this was filmed in English anyway...

well said, this movie gave me a completely different perspective. Especially when the Sophia demolished the myth that Marie said "let them eat cake". She was merely a victim of her situation. Her husband, while kind and docile was far too meek and spoiled to be a successful ruler.
Its really too bad that they finally grew up when it was too late, especially after losing a child. very sad but very new and refreshing perpective on this historical period.

I love this movie Marie Antoinette! I also love reading about her! It was so sad her ending of the life that I cry at the end when I read a diary about her. And I really felt bad when I read they took her two children (that survived) away. I think that she was too young and wasn;t a fit ruler. I agree that the people of France just thought it was unfair with the poverety of FRance. On the toher hand there it was recorded eveents that she tried to stop the poverty by selling jewels,gowns etc.

She was also hated for not being a French woman. But I think out of her 37 years of life she had a great and I think out of the thousands that watched this film people now think she was a sweet darling woman other then rumours being heard about such as the false one "Let them eat cake." This is one of the best movies I've ever saw! There're many people complaining about the music and historical inaccuracies, but Sofia Coppola did a great job! The way she created Versailles, the clothes...And Kirsten Dunst played M.A magnificent! Ow yes, everybody, read Antonia Fraser's book about Marie Antoinette, is a very good book!
